…the sights, the sounds, the atmosphere, the people, the culture, the everything that defines what TRAVEL is
Grenada | The Carenage | Warm Sunny Sunday
Trinidad | The Pretty Face Chain Up | SOAKA
So picture this, i’m at work on a Friday about 10pm with my typical “damn everyone out having fun yet im here at work” Ugh self. I get a text from a friend of mine. She goes “Al lets go to a fete. (so you’d have to know that its Carnival season in Trinidad and Tobago and everything is about Soca) so thirsty to do something tonight i reply “hmmm im at work but I could prolly buss out here at midnight, whats going on?” she replies “no no no its not today, its on Sunday…in Trinidad” TRINIDAD!!!! what the hell? she laughs then sends me these links Machel Montano – EPIC , Machel Montano – FOG. So being familiar with the music videos im like…damn I always wanted to go to this fete. Problem is…this normally happens a month before the actually week of carnival and who in the HELL going down to Trinidad a month before to go back for carnival. well keep reading. lol. she goes in her sweet trini accent “come nah you can stay by me, and Monday is a holiday. so with my FASS ASS self I start googling flights. who tell me to do that? BIG mistake. damn round trip $290. damn. and a free place to stay. so i ask her “can I find a ticket?” knowing these fete tickets are hard to find. she say doh worry about that we go find one. well padna…I booked a ticket Friday 11pm, was on a flight Saturday 9am and in Trinidad later Saturday afternoon. After messaging everyone we both knew with NO hope of finding a ticket. well there was a few with hella inflated prices. you know me, once ive committed i’m like shiiiit regular price $60 they selling for $120, i’m already here. but she wouldnt let me lol. “its a cooler fete no way you paying that, doh worry YUH SAFE, we go find one at regular price” so after a while day of searching at the door she see someone she knew trying to get rid of thier ticket. and just like that I was introduced to the wet fete of all wet fetes. well that ive been too.
Grenada | St. George’s | Grand Anse Beach
on this day on my tiny caribbean island of Grenada, the breeze blew perfectly, the waves crashed the shore and made the most amazing sounds, the atmosphere was captivating, the sun and clouds played in perfect harmony. This was a perfect TRANQUIL moment to capture. Imagine your’e on your own secluded island [if you got to this beach at the perfect time it felt like you had it all to yourself] and all this was yours for the moment.
Brasil | Rio De Janeiro | World Cup | Futbol
it’s 2014, im in Brasil….No im in BRASILLLLLL BABY. you know ever since i’ve been young watching superstars like rivaldo, romario, ronaldo (the phenom one) i’ve dreamt of going to brasil. Well mama i made it lol. I didn’t only make it to brasil i scored a few tickets to a few games. go me. not sure who was playing. but that universal sound that every soccer fan knows, that excitement when something ALMOST happens. listen.
Grenada | St. George’s | Grand Anse | Clock In
early one morning while flying my drone on the beach i noticed this gentleman and started following him. Wasnt sure what he was doing but I was apparent that he didnt mind and he was setting up for a days work, sort of CLOCKing IN. We all clock in some way or another and this gentle here just does it with shorts and a tshirt and on a pier on a beach, which is beautiful.
Grenada | St. John | Gouyave | Fishermen
So once again back on my beautiful caribbean island of Grenada my dad solicited me to come to the country to film some fishermen and women pulling in this HUGE net. It was a sight to behold. They were pulling this net for a few hours it was truly amazing. What was more amazing was seeing how payment for a few hours of work was handled. Basically the fish were DIVVY’d UP and given out to the persons who were pulling. This is an excerpt of the sounds in a heavy Gouyave [the town] accent. I’m still trying to decipher. lol. enjoy
